How Do You Get The Seeds Out Of A Pomegranate?

I want to make a fruit salad with pomegranate seeds in it. How do I get the seeds out without all that horrible yellow pith?
Do I have to pick them out individually with a pin like I used to do when I was a child?

the easiest way i have found is to get your hands dirty! cut it into four, fold it back on itself so the pips stick out more and run your thumbs over it, most should fall off quite easily then you can pick the rest out. make sure if you get any pith in it to take it out as you go tho.

  2. when i was a little girl many moons ago we were given half a pomegranite and a needle and we used to pick the seeds out and eat them one by one, needless to say they lasted an awful long time

Easiest way to do it is to cut in half then use the back of a wooden spoon and give it a whack! They should come out easily. Don’t use a pin – you’ll be there all day!!

There isnt a ‘clean’ way im afraid, just cust in half, then push inside out, scrape off gently with fingers and then rinse with cold water to get rid of the yellow bits!
    Hope this helps!

  5. I WOULD CUT IN IN 4 PIECES THEN PICK THEM OUT WITH A FORK …LOL

Cut it in half hold it over a bowl and hit it with a rolling pin or something similar and they should all fall out. can be a bit messy though.

Cut it in half and I usually hit it the back side with my hand… They fall out pretty easy

You can cut the fruit in half then like if you were juicing half an orange squeeze it in your hand over a bowl, they drop out , the remainder you can get using a spoon.

Sorry I find the individual seeds Bitter
I mash them with my tongue and spit the seeds out;…
Try sesame seeds soaked in Rose’s grenadine.
Heat a simple mix in the M/W and Use a good tight seal,,
the minor vacume in the jar will speed the grenadine into the seeds.

If the pomegranate is nice and ripe the following will work. Cut it into two halves. Put one half in the palm of your hand, with the seeds next to your palm. Get a kitchen ladle or similar, and give the fruit two or three, hard, sharp taps. Lift up fruit over a bowl and with a bit of luck all the seeds will have been released, and it is easy to remove the pith

the only other way i know of is with a teaspoon but you mush half of them. You might be able to buy them already done but just think of the poor people who would work in that particular swea shop, especially if they are paid by the kilo
