What Are The Flowers Of A Pomegranate Plant Called?

I'm just curious what you would call the flowers that bloom on pomegranate tree/shrub.I used to think they were a type of blossom, but I read that blossom only applies to the flowers of stone fruits.Do pomegranate flowers have a name?

  1. unconsci says:

Balaustines, the red rose-like flowers of the pomegranate, taste bitter and may be used as an astringent in folk medicine. The term “balaustine” (Latin: balaustinus) is also used for a pomegranate-red color.
